My good friend Sharon recently moved to Dodoma, TZ with the Peace Corps. Stationed near the medical school in the capital city, Sharon has experienced first hand the challenges of water scarcity. In a recent email she shared: "David, your words about water have been very true. The city I am in has a good water table underneath but getting it to the surface can be a major issue. I visited one classroom where half the older kids were out — all carrying water because the motor to the well had gone. Several mornings here in town there is no water, we keep big covered buckets in our rooms in case I have learned to take a bucket bath with a 1/4 of the bucket, clean some clothes in it, then use the rest to be sure the toilet flushes."
